BIOGRAPHY
Denis Rodier is a comic book illustrator that has collaborated on some of the most popular American series in history, such as Batman, Captain America, Wonder Woman and above all, Superman. It was his work in these publications that earned him his greatest accolades, particularly the story of “The Death of Superman”, best seller and winner of numerous awards. Since 2008 Denis has been busy on his own series L’Ordre de Dragon and L’Apogee Des Dragons, published in Europe by Soleil Editions.
As a painter, his work has been seen internationally in such publications as the illustration compilation Arzach Made in U.S.A., the picture book Shoes for Amelie (nominated and winner of several Awards of Excellence). He has painted covers for Newstime Magazine, Planet of the Apes, The Demon and many more. Some of his clients in the music industry are Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson, John Lennon etc.), Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, Mr Mister, XTC), Anton Fig (The David Letterman Band) and Suzanne Vega.
As well as being in several private collections, his work has been exhibited in New York, Rome, Durbuy, Belgium and the Quebec Museum of Art.
Denis has always participated in multiple musical projects as a percussionist, notably the musical show Melomaniaque featuring Gregory Charles which aired on ARTV. With the dawn of the XXI century he founded Specimen13 which has involved some of the most eminent artists of the Quebec music scene such as Martin Vanier (Talisma), Michel Blanchet (Mystick, Eila) and Gaston Gagnon (Garolou).

Denis Rodier est un créateur de bandes dessinées qui a collaboré aux séries américaines les plus populaires comme Batman, Captain America, Wonder Woman et surtout Superman. C’est son travail sur cette dernière qui lui a apporté les plus grands éloges, tout particulièrement l’histoire ”The Death of Superman”, best seller et lauréat de plusieurs prix internationaux. Depuis 2008, Denis publie surtout en Europe, chez l’éditeur Soleil, où parait la série L’Ordre des Dragons et L’Apogée des Dragons.
Dans le monde entier, ses oeuvres picturales peuvent être vu dans des publications tel que le recueuil d’illustration Arzach Made in U.S.A. et le livre jeunesse Shoes for Amélie (gagnant de plusieurs prix d’excellence). Il a peint des couvertures pour Newstime Magazine, Planet of the Apes, The Demon et plusieurs autres. Ses clients dans l’industrie musicale sont des artistes de renom tel que Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson, John Lennon), Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, Mr Mister, XTC), Anton Fig (David Letterman Band) ainsi que Suzanne Vega.
En plus de figurer dans d’innombrables collections privées, ses oeuvres ont été exposées au Musée du Québec, à New York, à Rome et à Durbuy en Belgique.
Depuis toujours, Denis participe à de multiples projets musicaux comme accompagnateur-percussionniste, notamment dans l’émission musicale Mélomaniaque avec Grégory Charles diffusée sur la chaîne ARTV. Avec l’arrivée du XXIe siècle, il fonde Specimen13 qui voit passer quelques membres les plus éminents de la scène musicale québécoise dont, Martin Vanier (Talisma), Michel Blanchet (Mystick, Eila) et Gaston Gagnon (Garolou).
